Cadden is accused of having caused the deaths of dozens of people, for which he faces second-degree murder charges. Cadden used to be the co-owner and chief pharmacist at the New England Compounding Center, until around 2012, when he and his colleagues were implicated in a deadly meningitis outbreak that sickened hundreds of people in 20 states.

The Madero Verdict
On Feb. 4, 2016, a San Bernardino County jury delivered an exceptionally high verdict in an area normally known for notoriously low jury awards in personal injury cases.
Last year, a concert promoter named Eric Johnson was shot five times - police still have not located the suspect - while backstage at a Wiz Khalifa and Young Jeezy concert. It is thought that a member of Young Jeezy's entourage was the shooter.
A grand jury last month declined to indict police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of young Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. This past Wednesday, a grand jury in another case (this time in NYC) declined to indict police officer Daniel Pantaleo, who applied a chokehold on Eric Garner. Garner later died.
