1 man killed, 3 injured in 2-car accident

When an auto accident involves more than one car, the chance of multiple injuries is much greater. Additionally, when the vehicles are full of passengers there is also a higher chance of at least one person being severely injured.

On Tuesday, October 29, 2013, a 2-car accident on Highway 121 killed one man and left three others injured. According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident took place at approximately 7:00 p.m. at Meadowlark Lane. A Jaguar was traveling south on Highway 121 when it collided with a Toyota. Before the accident, a witness reported seeing the Jaguar passing southbound traffic by using the northbound lane.

Due to the impact, both vehicles lost control. The driver of the Jaguar sustained major injuries. As a result, he was taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center via helicopter. Unfortunately, a passenger in this vehicle was declared dead at the scene. The Sonoma County Coroner is currently investigating.

The driver of the Toyota also sustained major injuries, and was immediately taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center via ambulance. Additionally, a 5-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the Toyota, was also injured. She was taken to Children's Hospital in nearby Oakland for treatment.

It is believed that the driver of the Jaguar was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Due to the investigation of the accident, traffic was only allowed one way for a couple of hours. Since the accident happened after the evening rush hour commute, traffic delays were minor.

This auto accident could have been avoided if the driver of the Jaguar would have obeyed the law. Unfortunately, he decided to drive under the influence and then weave in and out of traffic in a dangerous fashion. As a result, one person was killed and two others were injured.

The at-fault driver in a car accident can be held liable for those who are injured or killed in a car accident. Claims might include those for wrongful death, pain and suffering, lost wages and other damages. An experienced Los Angeles personal injury attorney can provide invaluable advice and options on how best to proceed with these cases.
