At Girardi Keese, we pride ourselves on the success we have enjoyed in representing thousands of people in California and nationwide. We have recovered millions of dollars for individuals who were hurt or killed because of negligence and wrongdoing. However, these financial successes tell only part of the story.
For more, see our article in California Law Today, as seen in Forbes on Sept. 8, 2014.
We made our name with cases like that made famous by the film Erin Brockovich, a case that involved a $633 million settlement on behalf of the residents of Hinkley, California. That's just one example of many. We could accept only the "big" cases - against manufacturers for contaminating the environment, against automakers for scrimping on safety at drivers' expense, against pharmaceutical firms for valuing profit over patients' lives - but at heart, we are a plaintiffs' law firm, a voice for the powerless.
Perhaps partner Robert Finnerty says it best: "We continue to represent the man who's been hurt in a car accident or the woman who's broken her ankle after falling on an icy sidewalk, because it's the right thing to do. That's one of the amazing things about Tom [Girardi] and our firm."
In Tom's words, "There has been a moral component to every one of our cases since day one." These are the words of a lawyer who holds the task of representing people who have suffered great personal or financial injury in the highest regard.
