A recent auto accident in Fresno County killed three sisters and led to another, the fourth sister, being sent to the hospital for treatment.
According to reports, the accident happened at approximately 6 p.m. At that time, a 56-year-old man caused the accident.
California Highway Patrol noted that the man was drunk when he got into his car. He was driving north when his car drifted in front of a car driven by a 67-year-old woman. Despite her best efforts to move out of the way, she was unable to avoid the collision.
The driver of the car was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries. The other three people in the car, her three sisters, were pronounced dead at the scene. The sisters were 73 years old, 72 years old, and 70 years old. It is believed that the women were traveling home from a casino, and that all four were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. The man who caused the accident is being treated for major injuries.
