5 car crash injures 11 people

Any type of auto accident has the ability to cause serious injury among those involved. In some cases, an accident can also lead to death. When multiple vehicles are involved in an accident, the chance of numerous injuries and extensive damage is much greater.

Even though our California readers may not pay much attention to what is happening in Chicago, Illinois, this story is worth reading for your own future safety.

During the early morning hours of Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, a five car accident in the Bucktown neighborhood of the Windy City injured 11 people while also destroying several cars. According to Chicago Police News Affairs, the multi-vehicle accident occurred near West Armitage and North Western Avenues at approximately 2:15 a.m.

All 11 of the people injured in the crash were adults. They were taken to St. Mary's Hospital and Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center for treatment. Officials noted that they are all listed in good condition at the present time. Police said the crash involved two parked cars as well as three moving vehicles.

Many people believe that serious accidents only take place during the busiest hours of the day when a large number of vehicles are on the road. This story goes a long way in showing that this is not true. Despite the fact that it was 2:15 a.m., there were three moving cars involved in the accident that led to 11 people being transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Regardless of what time of the day you are on the road - morning, noon, or night - you should be paying attention to what is going on around you. You never know when somebody in another car could cause an accident involving multiple vehicles.
