Levaquin

Levaquin, a medication used to treat infection, had a black box warning placed on it in July 2008. Levaquin is commonly prescribed to treat urinary tract infections (UTIs), sinusitis, bronchitis, bacterial infections and inflammatory ailments. Unfortunately, Levaquin is know to cause or be associated with ruptures of the Achilles tendon (and perhaps other tendons) as well as tendinitis. By placing a black box warning on the medication, the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) acknowledged the terrible and potentially life altering hazards posed by the use of Levaquin.
